LIPTON, Lawrence B – passed away on October 20th, 2017 at North Shore Hospital, Manhasset, just short of his 90th birthday. Larry was a graduate of NYU Law School and worked as an attorney for Allstate Insurance Co. for over 60 years as the longest tenured employee in the company's history. He served in World War II in the Coast Guard. Larry was married to the former Susan Cook for 65 wonderful years. They met at NYU. Larry leaves two beloved children Roger (Karen) Lipton and Meg (Alfie) Birnbaum. Larry cherished his four grandchildren Stephanie (David) Kelly, Michelle Birnbaum, Shane (Taylor) Birnbaum, and Rebecca Lipton. The joy of the family was his great granddaughter Molly Kelly. He also leaves his sister Norma. Larry lived a wonderful happy life at work and at leisure, especially at the family home in East Hampton. Funeral chapel service to take place on October 22nd at 10am at Riverside Nassau North Chapels, Great Neck, NY.

Larry Lipton was a wonderful lawyer and wonderful person. I have many fond memories of working with him in Richmond County. Always kind and always considerate. May he rest in peace.
