Lawrence Michael Connors III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 6, 2024.
After a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, Larry passed away peacefully with his brother Kevin and son Michael at his side.

Preceded in death by his father, Lawrence M. Connors Jr.

Survived by his mother Alice Patricia Connors ("Pat"), sisters Karen Richard (John) and Theresa Connors, brother Kevin Connors (Kim), son Michael (Lawrence Michael Connors IV), and stepson Christopher Gaskins (RyAnne). Loving uncle to Alexandra Connors, Connor Richard, and Colin Richard. Proud step-grandfather to Jett Gaskins and River Gaskins.

Larry was a 1977 graduate of Plainedge High School in North Massapequa, NY. After relocating later in 1977 to Lithia Springs with his family, Larry spent his career in commercial HVAC; during the 1990s he traveled throughout the U.S. as part of an Octagon Air Systems team responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and repair of critical systems for a national grocery chain.

From 2003 until his passing, Larry was a Service Technician with Commercial Air Systems, Inc. of Cumming, Georgia. Larry's family wishes to acknowledge the support they extended throughout Larry's illness.

Larry was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, and stepfather, as well as a doting step-grandfather.

He was a generous and loyal friend and brother-in-law, who will be long remembered by all for his sense of humor and ability to lovingly mimic his Irish kin.

Cremation has been performed at Larry's request.

A Funeral Mass with Fr. Jack Knight officiating will be held on Friday, Sep 20 starting at 1:00 pm in Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, 1920 Skyview Drive, Lithia Springs, GA, 30122.

Interment will immediately follow at Sunrise Gardens of Memories, 11261 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Douglasville, GA 30134. A meal will be served in the church social hall following interment.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Larry's name to the American Cancer Society.

So many memories from times long past. I'm glad we were able to talk and laugh about those memories. We had our dance on The Plaza that we always talked about. It was The Plaza in Douglasville not New York, NY ......... But it was as Grand as NY would have been. That is now a memory that I'll cherish forever. Aside from Larry's humorous side, he was one of the kindest people I've ever known. Rest in Sweet Peace. Praying Peace, Comfort and Understanding for all of the family and loved ones and there are so many. "Til the Twelfth of Nver"

Love my time with all the Connors and appreciate being the "Greek" sister and always being welcomed by Larry's sweet smile. Now you're at peace.
With Love.

There is no greater gift than the gift of healing others with laughter and Larry had that gift. His legacy will surely live on in the hearts and memories of those who spent time with Larry. Thank you for great memories Larry. Blessings of peace.

Our lives will have a little less laughter though those in heaven will smile more. I'm grateful for so many good times spent laughing with Larry.
