Lawrence Mihalik Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Edward Mihalik

January 31, 1958 - May 28, 2025

Larry Mihalik, lately of Hanover Park, IL but most recently traveling the highways and byways of America, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 28, 2025. Larry was a caring father and will be lovingly remembered by his children: Christina (Timothy) Davenport, Brian (Cyndi) Mihalik, and Daniel Mihalik.

Larry was welcomed at heaven's gate by his beloved parents, Edward Sr. and Anna Mihalik; his dear brother, Edward Jr, and his respected brother-in-laws, Jerry Wasley and Ray Rood. Also waiting on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, with a joyful greeting only a loyal dog can give, was his faithful companion, Dusty.

In semi-retirement, Larry embraced the freedom of the open road. With his newly acquired RV, he spent the past year reconnecting with family across the country, visiting his siblings: Patricia (late Jerry) Wasley of Pennsylvania, Vincent (Sharon) Mihalik of California, Michael (Geri) Mihalik of New Jersey, and Valerie Rood of Pennsylvania.

Larry recently shared his excitement for a summer filled with camping trips and adventures with his cherished grandchildren: Kevin Davenport, Penelope Mihalik, Charlotte Mihalik, and Amy Davenport. He was also looking forward to an upcoming family reunion-an event sure to have been filled with laughter, stories, and the company of the many nieces and nephews he held close to his heart.

Larry lived life with curiosity, kindness, and a deep love for his family. His gentle spirit and adventurous heart will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to Larry´s wonderful family and extended family in everyone who knew Larry. He was one-of-a-kind! To know him was to love him.
I first met Larry in 1992 in Florida at a meeting that turned out to be one of many we would share over the course of several years. He never met a stranger and had a warm smile for everyone he met.
There´s a special place in Heaven for Larry and I can only hope to catch up with him someday when my time comes. Meanwhile, I´ll keep a special place in my heart for him. May he rest in peace

I'm deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Larry. I had the privilege of working with him in the Claims department at Zurich, and he was truly one of a kind. Larry was incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to lend a hand or share his insights with patience and kindness. He had a great sense of humor that made even the business days lighter, and he brought warmth and positivity to every interaction.

Beyond work, I'll always treasure the stories he shared - especially those about traveling in his RV across the country, soaking in the beauty of life, and cherishing time with his family. He lived with such a genuine spirit of joy and appreciation for the little things, and that's something I'll never forget.

Larry will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.

My sincerest condolences to Larry's entire family. He was such a fun and great man. He was a tremendous leader who taught so many of us at Zurich agile methodology and his laughter was contagious. He will be greatly missed, and he was so shortchanged on life which breaks my heart for his entire family. RIP dear buddy.
