My first job out of College was working for Larry. Being the only one in my family living in the US with the rest still in Ireland, Larry always looked out for me and made sure I was doing ok. He was a kind man with a truly infectious personality. I have many, many great memories of Larry and I will always remember him with a smile.
RIP Larry.

I recently heard about Larry's passing and want to express my sympathy to the family. Larry and I grew up together in Sayville, attending St. Lawrence School together, then went our separate ways in high school and college. I would see him on the occasions when Fairfield would come to Fordham to play basketball, then occasionally in Manhattan after graduation. I moved away from New York, but always remembered Larry as a warm, friendly person who was always delighted to encounter an old friend. Rest in peace.

I had the real nice experience of getting to know "Raf" while playing basketball at the NYAC. He was a great guy on and off the court! In later years he did his best to keep all the members of the team together on frequent occasions. There was never a "tab" when "Raf" was any where in sight. He will live through the people he touched....and there were many! May he rest in peace!

Larry was truly one of the larger than life figures in the finance world. He was terrific at business but always had something nice and supportive to say about family. He had boundless energy and could instill enthusiasm into even the most jaded of audiences. In the boardroom or the golf course, he was always a superstar. We will all miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rafferty Family. What a wonderful man Larry was and the obituary only could describe a small portion of what he meant to so so many people! He was a true Legend, kind, generous and caring to those who knew him and many who didnt. He enjoyed life to the fullest, made everyone around him feel better with his friendship and created a cherished family legacy.
Always in Our Hearts and Forever Remembered!
Love,
