Roy, Lawrence J. "Larry".

On November 22, 2024 the world lost an amazing man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Larry Roy was born September 8, 1948 in St. Louis and he lived his entire life in the hometown he loved. He married the love of his life, Jo Carol Becherer, and the couple went on to have four children and nine grandchildren. Larry loved golfing, fishing, traveling, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an excellent photographer and mastered the art of videography and editing. His " through the years" presentations were one of the highlights of his childrens' weddings and graduations. He was a gourmet chef, but the meals that brought him the most joy were the Sunday night dinners when all of the kids would come and eat. His grandchildren delighted in his science experiments, his knowledge of astronomy and his Friday night poker games. His sense of humor was unsurpassed. Larry's family and friends were accustomed to laughing until they cried at his jokes. A few months before his death, his nephew asked Larry if he was still working on his stand-up routine. Larry responded that "these days, I'm just trying to stand up!"

>> Larry believed in giving back and he was a man of profound faith, that only strengthened during the last decade when he battled several illnesses. He and Jo definitely believed in and felt God's loving embrace every step of the journey that called him home to Jesus.

>> Larry was the son of Richard and Charlotte Roy. Larry's love extended to his four children Kim Chastain(Rob), Aimee Pfister(Dan), Rick Roy(Angie), Kevin Roy(Mary Beth) and his nine grandchildren Charlotte, Hannah, Grace Anne, Aidan, Chris, Jane, Dylan, Joey, and Luke.

>> Larry is survived by his sisters Judy Westrich (Damian) and Mary Ann Kohn, brother Dennis Roy(Karen) and the late Patricia Roy and Bob Roy(Mindy).

>> Visitation will be held at 10:30-11:30am on Saturday, January 25 at St Gerard Majella Church, 1969 Dougherty Ferry Rd., Kirkwood, MO. A memorial mass will immediately follow at 11:30 am.
