I Will

I am really feeling better
I recently felt ill,
I was "underneath the weather"
So I wrote my final Will.

You just can't be too careful
Should it be surprise,
But do not be too tearful
At the thought of my demise.

For I leave you all the money
That's in the U.S. Mint,
And just for you, my honey
A great newspaper "fit to print."

Texas oil and pirate treasure
Titles royal and movie fame,
And for your sporting pleasure
Baseball parks and bowling lanes.

All the bridges and the highways
The boats that are all in port,
You can have them
'Cause it's my way
To leave you some support.

So do not be sad or sorry
When my time is through
You'll no longer have to worry
I will take care of you.

-Larry Shapiro

Though distant, I always knew my Dad loved his family above all else, and am so grateful to have been able to spend his final days with him. We'll miss you Dad. I hope you have found the peace you deserve.
