HUTCHINGS LEAH MARIAN SHAFER
86, the wife of William John "Bill" Hutchings, passed away Tuesday evening, January 29, 2008, at the Conway Medical Center. Mrs. Hutchings was born January 2, 1922, in N. Versailles, PA, the daughter of Amos Christopher Shafer and Iva Harriett Graham Shafer. She was a retired administrative assistant for the Carnegie-Mellon University. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 64 years of Conway, are: her son, Curtis William (Kathy Lou) Hutchings of Irwin, PA; five grandchildren, Tara Lynn Hutchings, Tanner Curtis Hutchings, Christopher William Schofield, Jennifer Rose Schofield, and Scott Allen Williams; one great granddaughter, Ariana M. Schofield; one brother, Don (Martha) Shafer of Pittsburgh, PA. She was predeceased by her parents and her daughter, Cynthia Michelle H. Schofield. Funeral service will be 7PM Friday evening, February 1, 2008 at the East Conway Pentecostal Holiness Church directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKENZIE FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be from 5-7PM prior to the services at the church. McKenzie Funeral Home in honored to serve the Hutchings Family.

Scott,
I know you will miss your grandmother--she was that special person that you could always go to for love and comfort--she gave you the love that only a mother can give to her child because she was there when your mother was taken away. Now, they are together. Cherish the memories that you have and remember that you were loved by both of them. We love you, too.

I have lost my dearest friend ever...my Marian was the most loving, caring, devoted friend anyone could ever hope to have.....shs's gone now and I thank God for the time we had even this past week our exchange of email was so beautiful so i have those last words....God bless Bill, Curt & family.....he's a wonderful son....I love you Marian....
