NIEDERMAN, LEAH, 67, of Riverside, a retired Executive Officer to the Provost of Brown University, died September 14, 2008.

Born in New York City, a daughter of the late Albert and Elisabeth (Kappel) Niederman, she had been a resident of Rhode Island for over 30 years.

Ms. Niederman received her Bachelor's Degree from City College of New York and her Master's Degree from the University of Rhode Island. She was a member of the World Affairs Council, Temple Emanu-El, and the Jewish Seniors Agency, and was a volunteer at Miriam Hospital.

She is survived by her brothers; Nicholas Niederman of New York City and Carl Niederman of Brooklyn, NY, many close friends, and her four precious cats.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 1:00 PM in Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Avenue, Providence with burial in Swan Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Nature Conservancy, Attn: Treasury, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203. Shiva will be private. Arrangements by SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

June 16,2015 I am an old friend of Leah's from high school & college, & was looking her up to possibly get in touch; instead I discovered her untimely death. I am so, so sorry. Leah was a lovely, highly intelligent girl ( girl, when I knew her). I miss her.
