Leah T. O'Shea, 35, beloved daughter of Christen and Kathleen (Shea) O'Shea, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 after a life long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Leah grew up in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School. She then attended Salem State University. Leah, in all aspects of her life, was an extraordinary person. She was never one to complain, she did not let her illness get in the way of experiencing what life had to offer. She enjoyed many summers at Frye Island on Sebego Lake in Maine and had a dream come true when she went on a Caribbean cruise with her family. Leah was a lover of good food. Her favorite network on TV was the Food Network and she loved watching the Phantom Gourmet and going to many of the restaurants on the show. Leah would often raise awareness for Huntington Disease and Kidney Disease by completing the walks with her family. She was loved by her parents, siblings and entire family. Leah was a gift to anyone who knew her. She will be missed for not only her kind nature, but the impact she had on others. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her nine loving siblings: Christian O'Shea and his wife Rhonda of Pownal, Maine, Tammy O'Shea of Nahant, Adam O'Shea and his wife Megan of Rykkinn, Norway, Lisa Fulton and her husband Kirk of Dracut, Rachael O'Shea of Boxford, Michael O'Shea of Georgia, Sarah O'Shea of Lynn, Elizabeth O'Shea of South Hamilton and Manuel O'Shea of MA and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Leah is the cherished niece of Christine Simpson of Beverly, Michael Shea of Salem, Maureen and John Tanzella of Beverly, William and Kate Shea of Beverly, Shaun and Anna Maria O'Shea of Florence, South Carolina, Michael and Deborah O'Shea of Pompano Beach, Florida, Martin and Kathleen O'Shea of Norfork, Paul and Cheryl O'Shea of Falmouth, Maine and Mary and Mike Lilly of Gorham, Maine. Leah is the loving granddaughter of Arline Cormier and the late William Shea, Rebecca Shea and the late Gerald and Francis O'Shea. She is predeceased by her birth mother Nancy Reed. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Leah's Family in the funeral home on Thursday, January 30th, 2020 from 4 to 8pm Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (Rt. 28) Stoneham, on Friday, January 31st, 2020, at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Leah's Life at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn Street, Reading at 10:00am. Kathy, Chris and family: Deepest condolences to you and your family on Leah's passing. Though she had life-long health and other challenges she maintained her focus on getting better and living her life as fully as possible. She touched so many providers and patients at Children's with her positivity, humor and interest in how they were doing. Though Leah was not blessed with good health or the long life she deserved she was very blessed to have you as her parents and as her family.

The memorial card is beautiful and captures the essence of Leah's special qualities. The photo of her is also beautiful and a wonderful way to remember her. May her goodness and genuine love of family and life sustain you at this difficult time.

Dear Kathy and O'Shea family, I just wanted to extend my deepest and heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Leah. I was her school nurse while she attended Hannah School in Beverly. I spent quite some time with Leah, and through her many challenges, she always maintained her sense of humor and her good nature. I still have the locket that caught her attention on a daily basis, and I often think of Leah when I have it out. She was a remarkable young lady and may your hearts be warmed by the memories you carry within them.
