Lee Herman

February 25th, 1942 – January 22nd, 2025

Lee Herman of Honeoye, NY, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, surrounded by love and reflection on a life filled with transformation. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Karyn, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage before her passing in 2022. Though not without challenges, their relationship was a testament to love, compassion, and commitment.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, Abraham Herman and Blanche E. (DeFisher) Herman Corella; his stepfather, Neil J. Corella; and his siblings, Florence (Herman) Spies VanOrden, Catherine Corella, and Ronald Herman.

Lee is survived by his children, Michael and Sue Herman, Brad and Jessica Herman; his grandchildren, Justin Saunders, Nicholas Herman, Kaiden Herman, Sebastian Herman, and Jaelynn Herman. He is also survived by his siblings Kathleen 'Kathy' (Corella) Laure Lewis, and Neil G. Corella, as well as his nieces and nephews. Among them, Natalie (Corella) Valente shared a special bond with him and was a constant source of support over the years. He is also lovingly remembered by Mark D. Lewis, Gary Spies, Cheryl (Spies) McConnell, Tiffany Corella, Cassidy Corella, Richard VanOrden, and the late Robert VanOrden.

Lee was a man of contrasts-reserved yet impactful, direct yet deeply caring. Though he could be a man of few words, his presence was strong and steady. His voice and laughter carried weight, filling a room with ease. His life was one of transformation, marked by resilience and redemption. A fighter in every sense, he faced life's challenges-including years of health battles-with quiet strength and determination.

During his working years, Lee co-owned a business alongside his eldest son, Michael. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing, staying active, being outside, and spending time with family. Lee found great joy in being a grandfather, where his love served as the foundation for unique relationships with each of his grandchildren-Justin, Nicholas, Kaiden, Sebastian, and Jaelynn. Whether through sports, trips to the park, or simple conversations, he cherished the time he spent with each of them in their own way.

A service to honor Lee's life will be held on April 26th, 2025 at Honeoye United Church of Christ.
