Lee Headley Holt

Lee Headley Holt, 79, of Homewood, AL, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She was born on October 28, 1940, in Gadsden, AL to Lee and Ruby Headley. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1958 and attended Birmingham-Southern College. After living in New Orleans for four years, a city she loved to return to on vacation, she moved back to Birmingham where she cherished giving back to the church. One special way was by needlepointing the altar kneelers at All Saints Episcopal Church. Always dedicating her time to those in need, she was a member of the Service Guild of Birmingham and the Vestavia Hills Garden Club, raising funds to move the Sibyl Temple to a site atop Shades Mountain for all to enjoy. More recently, she was a volunteer at St. Vincent's Hospital and arranged the altar flowers at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Vestavia Hills, AL. Lee loved tending to her garden, Alabama football, and laughing with her many friends. Lee Headley Holt is survived by her two children Ira Hawkins Holt, Jr. (Heidi) and Katherine Holt Antonello (Michael), and her six grandchildren, Mason Lewis Holt, Carley Hannah Harp, James Michael Harp, Richard John Antonello, II, Samuel Joseph Antonello, and Joseph Patrick Antonello. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruby Riddle Headley and James Lee Headley, and sister Margaret Headley Loftin. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
