Lee Isenberg-Rafi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2025.
Lee Isenberg-Rafi, born on October 9, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2025, in Glen Rose, Texas. Her life was a vibrant tapestry of love for family, nature, animals, and faith-a spirit both gentle and fierce that left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Lee was the beloved daughter of Carl and Katherine Isenberg and sister to Debbie Isenberg-Johansen. She grew up surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who helped shape her joyful and adventurous spirit. Though many of them preceded her in death, their influence remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter Amanda Gatlin (Eric), who shared a deep bond with her mother rooted in love. Lee's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren-Jordan Bengtsson (Brittany), Hannah Mccasland (Justin), Landon Mccasland, and Chance Mccasland-and numerous great-grandchildren whom she adored deeply. Her cousins held a special place in her life as well; they were more than family-they were like siblings to her.

A devout Christian, Lee's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and made prayer a daily ritual-not only for those closest to her but also for strangers she felt needed God's love. Her spiritual generosity was boundless; she offered comfort through prayer to anyone she believed needed it.

Lee had an extraordinary connection with animals and nature. Whether riding horses across open fields or casting a line into quiet waters while fishing, she found peace outdoors. Her home was always filled with animals-ducks, goats, dogs, and even a pet pig that lived indoors-all of whom she bonded with effortlessly. Her love for dancing reflected the joy she carried within; it was another way she expressed the rhythm of her free-spirited soul.

Those who knew Lee remember her as someone with a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She had a playful side reminiscent of her father's charm-able to light up any room with humor or warmth. Her personality could shift from tender compassion to fierce determination.

In the words lovingly shared by her daughter: "You were born to dance to the beat of your own heart; to roam without cages; with the innocence of a child, and the free spirit of untamed horses; I hope you laugh without stopping, live with abandon, and love like that's all there is. Stay wild, my wild, wild child."

Lee Isenberg-Rafi's memory will continue to inspire those who loved her-to live freely, love deeply, pray earnestly, and never lose touch with the beauty of nature or the power of faith.

May her memory bring comfort and peace to all whose lives she touched.
