Leif Olson Obituary
Leif E. Olson, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2020 at 38 years of age. He was born on November 25, 1981 in Lansing, Michigan. Leif worked in construction, specializing in remodeling and dry wall. In his free time, he liked to go hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed tinkering with things both taking them apart and putting them back together. Leif lived life to the fullest. He was both easy going and stubborn, with a big heart and willing to help anybody. He was a father of five, a son, and a brother to many.
Leif is preceded in death by his father, Michael Olson; step-father, George Morehouse; grandmother, Cornelia Oakley; and nieces, Tian Shelden and Heavenly Shelden. He is survived by his mother, Deborah Mestemaker (Walter Nichols); step-mother, Florence Ables; grandfather, William Oakley; children: Hayven R. Waldo, Ashlyn Gatlin, Kaleb Olson, Gabriel Olson, and Liam Lief Olson; siblings: Dawn Olson (John Hosier), Deborah Shelden (Kenneth Pasche), and Michael (Alicia) Olson; step-siblings: April Thomas, Matthew (Jacqueline) Thomas, Owen (Georgette) Thomas, George Morehouse Jr., and Katherine Morehouse; nieces and nephews: July Hosier, David Shelden, Joseph Shelden, Dameyon Pasche and Braydon Pasche, Michael Olson, Matthew Olson, and Andrew Olson; several step-nieces and step-nephews; and many friends and family members.
A memorial dinner celebrating Leif’s life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. at the Village Green Clubhouse, located at 5200 West Mall Drive in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family for Leif’s children. Arrangements entrusted to Vickers Leslie Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St./P.O. Dear Leif, 3 days apart we are and Imagine how my heart feels Broken. I enjoyed sharing our Celebrations of our lives together we did so many fun things ! But Ill never forget stealing Randys Truck and how just by following you I always ended up in trouble , but guess what we ride or die you wanted me to always come around cause I was your protection! I'll never forget the time that me ,Leif ,Mike and big Herm went to Luther hunting. early morning Mike and Leif are heading out to their blind and me and Herman are heading out to ours. they go one way and we go to the other. all of the sudden we hear a gunshot, now me and Herman already know it's too dark 2 Be shooting I look at Herman and tell him yep the boys got scared.now of course they would say that the gun accidentally went off as they were walking out to the blind but me and Herman knew. it was a great time that hunting season I'll never forget it. R.I.P Leif you going to be missed greatly.

Leif,I have known you since you were just a small kid. You were always so cute and so funny. You use to come over with your sisters and brother and we would swim in the pool for hours. We should have listened to our parents when they said,if they knew then, what they know now, they would have done things differently. I often hear those words true in my own life as well. I wish we could go back in time and start over Rest easy my friend/brother. I will love you always
