Lena Christensen Obituary
Mrs. Lena Christensen, 105, died at Settler's Point Personal Care Home in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Christensen was born November 12, 1900, in a sod house in Custer County, Nebraska. She lived most of her life in central Nebraska, moving to Biloxi to be near family in 1991. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Biloxi.
Mrs. Christensen is survived by one daughter, Beverly Hammond, and son-in-law, Earl; four grandchildren, Mrs. Chris (Kim) Kennedy of Noblesville, IN, Mrs. Michael (Tammy) Borosky of Walnut Creek, CA, Mrs. Eric (Shandi) Nodurft of Wheeling WV, and Randy Hammond and his wife, Keely, of Biloxi; five great granddaughters and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006, at 12 noon at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Biloxi with visitation one hour before service time. Mrs. Christensen will be sent to Horner-Lieske Funeral Home in Kearney, Nebraska for services and burial in Litchfield, Nebraska Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 2005 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531; Settler's Point Personal Care Home, 13629 Wilfred Seymour Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564, or to Quality Hospice, 1001 Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS 39530.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Lena's family. She had a wonderfully long life, and I pray it was a good life and in good health.
She was among my favorite memories of The Home we used to call Seashore Personal Care. What a wonderful lady she was. I am writing my memoirs of the Home. It's called 'The Home In My Heart'.
I look forward to seeing her when it's my turn to stroll down that golden street to the Throne of Christ our Savior. What a grand reunion she is having now.
My prayers will be with all of you who she had to leave behind.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Lena Christianson. What a dear woman she was. When she was at Seashore Personal Care, I was the Activities Director/Secretary. She was special to me.
I pray for the Lord's comforting arms around each of her loved ones. I pray God's peace on you all.
