Leo Buckas Obituary

Leo J. "Bucky" Buckas, 68, of Dunmore, died Friday in VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center. His wife is Millie Rimosites Buckas.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Albert and Mildred Griscavage Buckas, he was a 1960 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a graduate of Lackawanna Junior College. He was an Army veteran, having served in Alaska, was retired from Consolidated Freight, and was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, North Scranton. He was a member of Teamsters Local 229.

He was a loving husband, father, grampa "Bucky," brother and friend who lived life to its fullest. He was a faithful Philadelphia Eagles fan, and worked hard to provide for his family. Bucky was a jovial man and always spoke his mind and will be missed by many, especially by his dog, C.C.

Also surviving are three sons, Thomas, Scranton; Randy and companion, Joann, Newton-Ransom; and Christopher and companion, Carla, Dunmore; two daughters, Maria Baldassari, Dunmore; and Cheryl Esperance, Throop; six grandchildren, Christian and Julian Buckas, Chelsy Esperance, Jason Cody Esperance, William Baldassari and Luca Baldassari; a brother, Albert Buckas, Throop; and his former wife, Hilda Buckas Balinas, Scranton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, by the Rev. Paul Wolensky. Interment with military honors will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

He was an amazing man, and was great at making even the "stiffest" people laugh. All he did was joke and play. He was an amazing man and will be missed by some many, I hope to see all of you tonight at the funeral home. Sorry to hear of the passing of Leo.I worked with Leo at C.F.Pocono Summit.He was a good man and always made people laugh.Im sure he will be missed by all.
