Leo was one heck of a great guy. He was always so friendly.
We do have a story to share. We needed some dirt to fill in some holes in our yard. I called the trucking company and asked them if they would deliver some dirt. They asked how much I needed. Well I didn't have a clue, so I asked how much it was. When they told me, I thought that wasn't very much money, so I asked about the next step up. That was not very much over the first price, so I said I'd take it. Ren and I were upstairs when we heard this huge truck pull in and started dumping this mountain of dirt. Ren asked me why I got a tri-axel truck load. I told him it was a real deal.
Leo stopped in one afternoon and asked us what we were going to do with all of that dirt. Ren looked at me and I said I didn't know, because I had used all I needed. Leo offered to move it for us, I thought he meant with a shovel and wheelbarrow. He said he had a machine with a scooper on it. He put it between the garages at the funeral home, where it would not be seen. We asked how much we owed him and he wouldn't take anything.
That was Leo, a kind person with a big heart.
We send you our love.

To the Eick family: I´m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Leo. I remember when I first met him at the LaPorte Street house. It´s hard losing a parent but time makes the memories bittersweet. Again, my sympathies.
