LEO KELLERMAN

KELLERMAN--Leo, MD, 95, of Douglaston, NY, died of natural causes at home, on November 18, 2012. Columbia College, '38 and Yale Medical School, '42. FIrst alternate Olympic Fencing Squad, '52. Ophthalmology practice in Queens, NY. Volunteer medical service in Kenya and St. Kitts/Nevis. During retirement his volunteer program planted over 700 trees in 30 years. Survived by wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (Zand) Kellerman; children Edmund Kellerman (Sarjit), Philip Kellerman both of Gainesville, FL and Leonora Thramann (William) of Avon, CT; grandchildren Dillon, Bianca, Michael and William. Predeceased by son, Andrew. Body has been donated to Yale Medical School. A spring memorial is planned.
