Leo John "Lee" Parrent

Lee "Leo John" Parrent, 94, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on March 16, 2024. Born on November 17, 1929, in Bay City, Michigan, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

Lee, known for his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors, was a Navy veteran, having served from 1952 to 1956. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a chef and owned two successful restaurants, The Chef Restaurant in Bay City, Michigan, and The Lantern Restaurant in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Additionally, he worked as a food service director for various institutions, including hospitals, universities, prisons, and a boys camp.

A devoted family man, Lee is survived by his wife Leona, six of their seven children: Diane Dexter, Debbie Guy, Mike Parrent, Mark Parrent, Chris Parrent, and Leo Parrent II, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo J. Parrent Sr., his mother Mary Leona Veda, and his son Matthew.

Lee's vibrant personality shone through his love for motorcycles, water sports, fishing, skiing, racing motocross, and scuba diving. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Roscommon, MI, San Albino Church in Mesilla Park, NM, and Bethel Bible Fellowship in Las Cruces, NM, where his Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Stern Drive in Las Cruces, NM.

Lee's zest for life, dedication to his family, and passion for his various interests will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
