Dr. Platt is a warm figure from my past, a great friend of my Grandfather, Dr. Andrew Shapiro (deceased). My twin, Laura, and I even visited him for eye checkups when we were little girls visiting family in Roanoke in the late 1960's-early 1970's. Our warmest wishes to his family - he was such a nice man, and a true luminary in Roanoke Jewish civic life.

As friends of the Kottlers, we knew Leo and Dorothy as Margaret's and Carolyn's parents, Rocky's and Ethan's grandparents. Leo was such a pleasant, affable man, intelligent and humorous and good company. And handsome! A good husband and father.

Leo was my Uncle and I have many memories of him. when growing up I use to stay with him and Aunt Dorothy while my parents were out of town, and both of them introduced me to the series Upstairs, Downstairs, Many meals were spent with them on West Drive and my grandparents home on Carter Rd. I will miss you OU.
