Leo was a mentor to young journalists and legal clients alike during his two successful careers as assistant city editor at the Rocky Mountain News and in private law practice. I was fortunate to benefit from his advice and counsel in both realms over the past 50 years. His advice was always straight-forward, practical, and on target. Leo was greatly respected within Denver’s legal and media communities. On a personal level, I will remember the managing job that Leo provided for the regular series of News-Denver Post summer softball games at City Park and the pickup basketball games that he organized at the YMCA for members of the media. And Leo was at Park Hill Golf Course encouraging me on the day when I scored in the 80s for the only time in my dreary attempts at golf. You can’t beat memories such as these. Thanks, Leo.

Leo Zuckerman was a dear friend of my parents' and was good enough to be my lawyer when I parted company with my spouse in the early '80s. It was a very stressful event for me, but he kept me smiling -- laughing, even. (Not inappropriate, looking back. Laughing beats crying!) A wonderful man who will be very, very missed.
