Mr. Prosser was born in Hemingway, a son of the late William Robert Rob and Melvina Cameron Prosser. He was retired from the Fiber Division of Wellman Industries and was a member of the Unity Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie Hanna Prosser of the home; children, Diane Herrin of Hemingway, Shirley (Steve) Bitters and Genieve (Jack) McKinley both of Charleston, Dean (Nancy) McAlister, Tommy (Debbie) McAlister and Cindy Prosser Barnhill all of Johnsonville; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Prosser was predeceased by a son, Joe McAlister; 3 sisters and 7 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 in the Unity Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009.
