TREMBLEY, Victor Dean – Of Linden, formerly of Grand Blanc, age 71, died suddenly of COVID19, Sunday, April 12, 2020 at McLaren-Flint. Cremation has taken place. No formal funeral, wake or memorial will be planned under the present circumstances. On Sunday, June 28th, 2020, the family requests that each person take a moment to reflect on their favorite time spent with Victor to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County (G-3325 Dort Hwy, Burton MI 48529 (810) 744-0511).
Victor was born in Flint, Michigan on March 3, 1949, the son of the late Marion (Bush) and Delores (Schwartz) Trembley. Victor is survived by his wife, Victoria (Schniers) Trembley, two daughters, Cynthia (Trembley) Milia and Jennifer (Trembley) Russell of Westin Lakes, TX. Cynthia’s husband Matthew of Charlotte, NC and five grandchildren; Maticyn Milia, Anna Milia, Anthony Milia, of Charlotte, NC. and Luke Russell and Tanner Russell of Westin Lakes, TX. Four brothers, M. Bushnell “BUD” of Los Angeles, Ca, James of Grand Blanc, MI, Stephen of Seattle, WA and Robert of Clinton Twp., MI. Eight cousins, Don and Diane Rockwell, Denny and Linda McGovern, Mike and Judy McGovern, and Glen and Nancy McMillian.
On October 25, 1968 he married the love of his life Victoria Lynn Schniers in Flint at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Although, Victor attended St. Matthews High School in Flint where he was honored as an All-American football player, Victor and Victoria were the personification of high school sweethearts. They were inseparable and enjoyed a life filled with laughter, love and an adorning family that gathered at their house on holidays to celebrate. You could often find them laughing, wandering around stores looking at knick knacks or shopping for upcoming family activities. They enjoyed traveling to casinos around Michigan after they both retired where Victor loved playing the penny slot machines dreaming of the day he would, “Hit the Big One”.
Victor received his Specialist accreditation in Education and was a beloved teacher for over thirty years at Grand Blanc and Kearlsey High Schools. He had many deep relationships with the people he worked with and the children he taught. With English as his passion, he was a craftsman with words and often composed poems and rhymes in his free time. He was never too busy to give students feedback on their papers or encouraging words to a struggling student. He positively impacted many children’s lives in the Grand Blanc area. Victor is also fondly remembered by many Grand Blanc high schoolers as the “cool guy who taught me to drive”. His patience and perseverance were never on display more than when he was teaching. Although he attended St. Matthew’s, he will forever be a Bobcat at heart.
To Victor there was only one season…Hunting season. Victor hunted pheasant, duck, turkey, and buffalo, but his favorite season by far was deer hunting season. To most, deer hunting season was maybe a couple weeks long, but to Victor, October thru December was ALL deer hunting season. He loved the autumn wind and the changes in the seasons. Victor had an admiration and respect for the animals he hunted and learned endlessly from their movements and tendencies. When hunting season ended, Victor quickly adapted to fishing. His freezer was always full of perch or bluegill and nothing tasted better than a fish fry at Grandpa Victor’s house. He was a great cook and would always be the first one rising unbelievably early in the morning to get the coffee started and watch the sunrise. The smell of breakfast in the morning or a venison roast in the evening were a familiar and welcoming symbol of Victor and Vickie’s household.
Victor was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Not a day will go by without his friends and family fondly remembering him. Whether he was working with his grandchildren on English papers, running around the front yard having a crabapple fight or Sling Shot tournaments at the family cabin he was always there to teach, guide, laugh and most importantly love his family. The life he built with Victoria was special and filled with love. Victor was always the voice of reason and logic. He did not shy away from confronting issues that concerned him and always approached them with discipline and good intentions. He was a loving man who left this world earlier than expected, but leaves behind a family better for the time, love and lessons he devoted to them. He will be forever missed.

Hands down the best high school teacher I ever had. The class was poetry and he was able to get me involved in something I had no interest in.

He was one of my favorite teachers. Mr. Trembley was the 1st teacher I met right before starting high school & gave me some advice as I was coming from a small school. He told such fun stories in class and really brought the books to life for us. He knew I wanted to be a writer and always encouraged me in my dream. He's a big part of why it came true. I'm grateful that I had him as a teacher. I am so sorry for your loss.

I remember Mr Trembley from his early days teaching at Kearsley. I doubt there was a student there who didn't think the world of him. From myself and on behalf of those students from the Kearsley years, we all send our deepest sympathies, prayers and support. Mr. Trembley was a great teacher to so many, in more than just the academic sense......and those are the best teachers. God bless

Mr Trembley was a wonderful and patient teacher who made books come alive for his students. I remember many of us arrived early to class because we enjoyed chatting with him and he always made us feel welcome in his classroom. Now, almost 30 years later, I can still picture him smiling at us, and all those books we read together. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

We are saddened to hear of Vics passing. He was a wonderful neighbor whom made Riverbend East that much better. Of course being a hunter, made him someone to share stories with. This world was better for having Vic in it. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Vics family at this time.

Mr Trembley was one of my favorite teachers from middle school. He was more than a teacher to me, he was a mentor, and I looked forward to his class each day. I remember the first day of class (1988) him telling us of his and his wife's first names, and that based on that they were meant to be, with a big smile on his face!! No doubt he lived a beautiful, full life. My deepest condolences to all that will be impacted by his absence.

Vickie and family...peace be with you in this time of sorrow. You're in our thoughts and prayers. I have lots of great memories of Vic (Mr.T). From trout fishing on Kersley Creek to cruising the back roads harvesting asparagus. From duck hunting on Gresock's fields to gardening on Cook Road. I suspect there's a tree stand somewhere in the Happy Hunting Grounds. Good By, my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Mrs. Trembley. You were my 5th grade teacher at McGrath and Mr. Trembley was my American literature teacher my junior year at GBHS. You both have a special place in my heart and my memories of school. Mr. Trembley had a true love for teaching and reading which made him a wonderful teacher. I will never forget all of his PEZ dispensers lining his classroom. Mrs. Trembley, I loved art and I loved doing FLAIR in your classroom during lunch. You were very supportive of me and I thank you for that. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You both have built quite a legacy which will last and last.

Im sure this is exactly how many of his students felt, but he was my favorite teacher. I remember how perfectly he picked out a poem for me to read in front of class about a little girl pretending to ride/be a horse and how special it made me feel to have a teacher Pay so much attention to who his students were. I made a donation in his name to the Humane Society of Genesee County.

Vic was a wonderful man, a great teacher, and a good friend.. His HS football Coach Jack Pratt, would say ' Victor was 135 lbs of pure technique.' We had fun at GBHS morning coffee, and he taught me lot. My favorite memories include, all of us sitting on a new roof we had just completed, also sitting around a campfire in the UP, and finally my kids swimming at his pool. He will be missed. Rest in peace my friend. All my thoughts and Prayers to Vicki and the family.

VIcky and girls, Pam, Jim, Bud, Bob & Stephen, our hearts are broken for you and for ourselves over the loss of Victor. His long phone calls with Jim at the office behind closed doors will be something I will miss, and I usually stole a few minutes to catch up with Vic before turning him over to his brother. The laughter that came about during those calls between them always made me laugh unknowingly! Those two brothers completed themselves. I will always remember too Vicky, your birthday street dance in high school when I got a glimpse of you and Victor together for the first time --what a perfect couple you were then and remained in every way! Our love and prayers for Victor and all of you. Fondly, June and Jerry Gall

I was so heartbroken to hear that Mr. Trembley passed away. He was one of my favorite teachers and definitely contributed to my love for English and reading to this day. Not only was he a great teacher, but also a wonderful neighbor who I remember seeing around the neighborhood walking the dog and inviting us to swim in the pool every summer. Our family will remember him fondly and be thinking of you during this difficult time. We hope you find comfort in all your memories.

Mr. Trembley is one of the reasons I became a high school English teacher. He had a great sense of humor, high expectations, a way if being tough but loving at the same time, and frankly, his teaching style is partly what I base my own on. He was such an amazing man and he will be missed.

Dear Vicky, Cindy, and Jennifer,I was very sad to hear of Victor`s passing. I am so sorry for your loss and pain and for the loss and pain of all those who loved and respected him, and there were many. I will try to find solace, and hope you can too, in remembering the many good times. For me, they began with our hunting trips in grade school for field mice with slingshots and BB guns and continued through our deer hunting days. Some of the best, and most fun, and funniest times of my life were our group fishing trips --- sometimes after playing poker all night. And the poker games and cribbage games in your basement and in mine were epic. Victor will be much missed by many ! Prayers and Peace to your families.
                                                                                          Pat Doyle
