Leonard Dietrich Jr.
Leonard L. Dietrich Jr., 73, of Spring Grove, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Wednesday at York Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy E. (Logan) Dietrich, who passed away in 1997.
Leonard was born in Butler on June 12, 1937, and was the son of the late Leonard L. Dietrich Sr. and Margaret (Huselton) Dietrich, who survives.
He graduated from Knoch High School and earned a bachelor's in engineering from Geneva College in Beaver Falls.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, U.S. Army and U.S. Navy for over 35 years and was honorably discharged in 1996.
He was a member of the Spring Grove Lions Club, the F&AM in Johnstown and the Windy Hill Senior Center in Spring Grove.
He also was a former member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Johnstown.
He is survived by his son, Leonard L. Dietrich III and his wife, Wendi, of York; his daughter, Lori Trexler and husband, Raymond, of Bellefonte; four grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Donald Dietrich; two sisters, Dorothea Kraustok and Beverly Watkiss; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Connie Tagg.
DIETRICH - The family will receive friends of Leonard L. Dietrich Jr., who died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Johnstown. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife on Monday at 10 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans Association, Attention: GIFT PROCESSING, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.

To Len's family... I just read of Len's passing, and that was a shock.. I hadn't
heard from him in a while, but was just getting his invitation ready for the class reunion.. so sorry to hear this and please know that we are sending our condolences.. many hugs from down here.
