age 86, lifetime resident of Lemont, passed away July 4, 2017.

Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Shella "June" nee Pike, Fries; a son, Leonard Fries; his parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Fries; and his siblings, Fred, Margaret, John, George, Marie, and Robert.

Survived by two daughters, Shella (James) Huizinga and Sandra (Dan) Rogers; his grandchildren, Steve (Anna) Huizinga, Dave Huizinga, Dan (Melissa) Huizinga, Jason (Emily) Huizinga, Bethanie Huizinga, Brittany (Daniel) Wetzel, Courtney Rogers, Glenn and Sarah Fries; his great-grandchildren, Justin, Alexis, Tyler, Matthew, Joanna, Andrew, Finley, and Jesse; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Plut; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a member of Marquette Manor Baptist Church, Downers Grove, and was a member of the Allied Bricklayers Union Local 74. Leonard loved spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, puzzles, and his dog Shayna.

Visitation Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services Friday, July 7, 2017, 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.

Uncle Len was a great friend, hunting buddy, fishing buddy, My wife fixed him with his wife June a Telephone Operator with Illinois Bell, They were more like a brother and sister we had a lot of good times, Love and GOD bless.
