To my dear friend Nanc, brothers, families and grandkids: I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your dad and grandfather; what a "grand" man Leonard was and what a joy it was to hear stories from you Nancy about his many accomplishments. Nancy, your dad was one of the first people I met when I moved to the neighbohood. Even before I met you. He was so nice to me, a lonely girl in a new state who heard there was a girl my age who lived in your house. Twice I went looking for you and you weren't home. Just your dad and me, chatting. I am thinking of your family.

Nancy and the entire Parker family- My heartfelt condolences to you on the passing of your father. Our families were so intertwined so many years ago. Your fathers influence resonates with me today. I assumed that everybody had such wonderful neighbors as we had! I cherish those fond memories with your family forever.

I was a student under Leonard at the School of Architecture at the U of M. I will always remember his straight forward honesty and non-judgmental, constructive guidance. You always felt like you got the straight story and that he genuinely cared for your success. In short he was a true and exceptional educator.

I have and will always be grateful for his guidance in my education, and how his teachings still resonate with me in my professional career. He will be missed.

Jon Parker and I were absolute best friends growing up. Betty and Leonard were always wonderful folks to be around, inviting us frequently to their home and cabin. Leonard was a hard worker, great father and husband with a fine sense of humor. He taught me many things about life and passion for one's vocation and family. I will miss him very much.

Leonard Parker's great achievements makes us all want to celebrate a wonderful life. As a former student and friend, Architect Leonard Parker has earned my admiration and affection. His song will always be sung. Leonard was the last of the great "Four Horsemen" at the University of Minnesota's  School of Architecture. The others being John Rauma, Bruce Abrahamson and Jim Stageberg. Along with Ralph Rapson an era has now come to a close.

All his former students knew his contribution to architecture had been vital and will do their very best to pick up where he left off, and that will be one of his claims to immortality.

I worked for Leonard for a number of years. His firm, The Leonard Parker Associates, was not only where I learned what it takes to produce great Architecture but also TLPA taught me how to run a business in an honorable and professional way. My condolences go out to his family, associates and all that knew this remarkable man.
