HOOVER
LeRoy S. Hoover, 78, of 2747 Valley View Road, Morgantown, Pa., entered into rest at Fairmount Homes on Sept. 28, 2013.
Born on Oct. 14, 1934 in W. Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Franklin and Magdalena Z. (Sensenig) Hoover. He was married on Nov. 10, 1955 to Anna Mary (Zimmerman) Hoover. They would have celebrated their 58th anniversary this year. He was a member of the Pequea Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Early in his life, LeRoy was a dairy farmer, and then a business owner of Farmer Brown's Market from 1964-1990. He and his wife were the founders of Sunny Crest Home. In later years his hobbies were New Holland Hit and Miss engines and he built model John Deere engines with ice cream freezers. He enjoyed spending winters in Sarasota, FL.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children: Leonard, married to Suetta (Kilmer) Hoover, of Tipton, MO,; Elaine, married to Derrill Nolt, of Singers Glen, VA,; Mary Jane, married to Clair S. Garman, of Manheim, Pa.; Barbara Ann, married to Jere N. Sensenig, Jr., of Quarryville, Pa.; Janet, married to Jerry Oberholtzer, of Nokomis, FL; 25 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters: Arlene Martin, of Terre Hill; Franklin N., married to Esther (Garman) Hoover, of New Holland; Mary Eberly, of Blair County; Ervin, married to Joyce (Martin) Hoover, of Akron; and John Aaron, married to Anna (Zimmerman) Hoover, of Denver.
He was preceded in death by a son, Elvin (1965); a daughter, Rosene (2008); and a brother, David S. Hoover (2013).
Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 4 at Sunny Crest Home with further services at Churchtown Mennonite Church, in Churchtown, Pa. with bishop Curvin Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funeral, Terre Hill.
