Leroy Kolin Obituary

Kolin, Leroy C. Ann Arbor, MI 1920-1985 Died peacefully in Ann Arbor on February 16, 2005. Survivors are wife of 60 years, Vera, son Michael (Lisa) of Scottsdale; daughter Gail (Larry) of Ann Arbor; grandson Jason (Vicki) of Ypsilanti; granddaughter Paige of Seattle; brother Louis of Pensacola; sisters Celeste and Valerie of Plymouth; and numerous nephews and nieces. Roy attended the University of Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University. He worked at Ford Motor Company and retired from Rawsonville after 40 years. Roy joined the USAF in 1943 and served as a First Lieutenant with the 487th Bombardment Group as a Bombardier/Navigator in Eng land where he met and married his wife, Vera, in 1945. After retiring from Ford in 1980, he moved to Bellevue, WA and returned to Ann Arbor in 2002. Roy was an avid stamp collector and was a member of the Ann Arbor Stamp Club. Special thanks to Hospice of Michigan and Sunrise Assisted Living in Ann Arbor. Cremation has taken place. Private burial service with full military honors will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Please make donations to the charity of your choice. I met leroy at Pittsfield and played cards with him on tuesday We will surely miss him .

We are so glad we could see Roy (and Heidi and our kids had an opportunity to meet him and Vera for the first time) when they moved to Michigan. Vera and Gail, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
