February 23, 1955 - September 19, 2012
On September 24, in the presence of his loved ones and joined together with the hearts and prayers of family and friends near and far, Les Ruddock's remains were committed to their final resting place on the land he loved so well. Les was born in Scotland, grew up in Ottawa, and found his true home on the banks of Fish Creek in Priddis where he built his homestead and enjoyed the great loves of his life, his family, their land, and politics. Les is held close forever in the hearts of his wife Anne Marie, daughters Stephanie and Jordan, mother Marie, sister Jennifer and extended family and friends. Les was predeceased by his Dad, James Niven Walker Ruddock in 1984. We are grateful to so many - our families always, our friends whose care and kindness can never be repaid, Les' supportive company EXP Services Inc. and everyone we encountered in the medical system across Canada, who worked so hard for Les and for everyone in their care - Dr. Tristan Hembroff, a friend and advocate and all of his colleagues in Black Diamond; our mighty Dr. Tina Cheng and all of her colleagues in Calgary; Dr. Barry Bultz and his colleagues, the research team at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal; and everyone at the Foothills Country Hospice. Les left this world as he had lived in it with courage, strength, and kindness. We cherish his life and his legacy.
