Lillian & Anne my heart goes out to you. 'Uncle' Leslie was a favourite of my parents and especially of mine. I can hear him declaiming fervently and chuckling with twinkling eyes still. What a privilege it was to have been a small part of his life.

'L.C.' emboldened me to believe that the rule of law, and justice, can be brought to bear in every situation. He had a sense of humor that sometimes conveyed important messages and sometimes simply warmed a person. I am very glad he touched my life, and relieved to know he touched the lives of many others. Mrs. Green, Anne, you are n my prayers.

Professor Green will be sadly missed by generations of military lawyers from Canada and elsewhere. His adherence to the rule of law and ideas shaped the decisions of military lawyers, commanders and policy advisors and made the world a better place. I will miss his lectures as well as the quiet moments of sharing a pint.It was an honour to have known him. My condolences to his family- our thoughts are with you.

"The Professor" was a giant of international law and his thinking on the law of war will continue to influence its application for many decades to come. But much more importantly, he was a decent and kind man, always armed with a smile and a helping hand. He changed the lives of many for the better, including me. We shall miss him deeply. Love and condolences to Lillian and Ann.

Lillian, Anne and Holger, we are saddened by the passing of Leslie and we offer you our deepest sympathies. It was always such a pleasure spending some time with Leslie and Lillian. We shared a drink of wine on a few occasions and we enjoyed the laughter as well as the knowledge that Leslie had on so many issues. We will miss Leslie. Cherish the memories that you have and know that we are thinking of all of you.

What a loss for everyone who cares about international law. Leslie was always turning right into might. A great thinker, a great writer, a great mentor and a great friend.

Leslie was a wonderful scholar, mentor, and teacher. One of his great abilities and gifts was to stimulate thought among those around him. It was a great privilege to know him. He was an inpiration to many, both young and some now not so young. He was my friend and I am very proud of his frienship.I hope that Lillian and Ann can take some comfort in reflecting on the fact that he enjoyed life and he contributed so much to life.

Professor Green was an inspiration to me as a young woman studying at the U of A- to study the development of International Laws with a man who was at the center and writing them was such an experience. He wasan incredible orator whom I could hear so often being interviewed on so many important international issues of the day- a true blessing.I had hoped to be there today-Liliane and Ann-I remember your arrival from Hong Kong many years ago.I learned so much about other cultures and parts of the world-Peace be with you.I shall cherish my memories. We need more people like him in this world
