Lester Whitt Obituary

Lester Eugene Whitt, born July 9, 1953, in Waco, TX, passed away January 21, 2023, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Friday, January 27, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, January 26, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco.
Lester was a lifelong resident of Falls County, TX. He graduated from Chilton High School. Lester loved his family, friends and farming. He started farming with his granddaddy, Perkins and working in his PaPa's gas station when he was a kid. Lester farmed most of his adult life and ended working with his son at Chilton Grain Elevator. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and made new friends everywhere he went. Lester will be missed dearly by many.
Lester was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Perkins; brother, Bob Whitt; and sister, Verna Whitt.
He is survived by daughter, Sheri Whitt Stratton and husband, Mark of Robinson; son, Ryan Whitt and wife, Bertha of Chilton; brother, Perry Ray Whitt of Canton; grandchildren, Tyler Whitt, Jorgia Whitt, Eyzela King and Daniel King; and several nieces, nephews and countless friends, far and wide.
The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Services along with two of his favorite nurses, Rose Gilmore and Rachel Scott for their continued care through the years.
