Lewis K. AMBROSE Born Nov. 8, 1910 in Missoula, MT, Lewis K. Ambrose died on Feb. 14, 2008 in Lacey, WA. Lew was a proud member of the Reserve Officers Association who retired as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army after serving in the Philippines during World War II. Also, he reveled in the glory of being a Golden Shellback. Lew enjoyed taking pictures, traveling, hunting, relocating squirrels, and spending time with family. After graduating from the University of Montana with a B.S. in electrical engineering, he lived in numerous places including Erie, PA, Ellensburg, WA, Seattle, WA, and ended up living at Hood Canal for many years before moving to Lacey 9 years ago. Lew retired from Seattle City Light in 1979 after working there for 37 years and serving as Director of Power Management. Lew was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy A. (Richard) Ambrose, who died in 1977. Also, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Ambrose, his sister Jane Davis and his step-daughter Joanne Wayman. He is survived by his wife Dora A. (Bowe) Ambrose, who he married in 1984. Other survivors include his sons: Richard L. Ambrose of Ellensburg, WA and Laren J. Ambrose of Seattle, WA; his daughters: Janet L. Moore of Vancouver, WA and Satya Ambrose-DeLapp of Portland, OR; his step-son Kenneth W. Bowe of Westport, WA; his sisters: Ruth Stennett of Lacey, WA, Aileen Ambrose of Vancouver, WA, and Catherine May of Denver, CO. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service is March 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Panorama Chapel. The Chapel is situated on the 5th floor of the Quinault Building at Panorama: 1751 Circle Lane SE; Lacey, WA 98503 (located off of Sleater-Kinney Rd SE).
