Liam Christopher Balton

I learned last night of Liam's passing from Mason. The shock of this saddest of news… and then the tears and the shock and the tears have been with me all night and morning; I wept for you and my heart grieves his loss and his absence. Lisa, you and your family are in my thoughts and as the pain of this is too much for just your family to hold, please know that your loss is carried throughout this town, through us and through all the people whose lives have crossed his path. We send you our most loving thoughts, our deepest empathy.

Liam was a soul-mate to our grandson Max. We have seen them together numerous times, especially at birthday parties where Liam and Max shared their amazing creativity. All of us are stunned and heartbroken. May Liam's brilliance and promise live on in Max and all who knew him. What a wonderful child you raised. We wish your family peace and the healing power of time and friendship.

I had Liam in my third grade class and I was amazed each and every day by his imagination, brilliance and creativity. I was most impressed however by his kind and compassionate soul. My heart and deepest sympathies go out to Lisa, Christopher and Elsa. Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of the loss of this beautiful boy. I am so sorry. I remember meeting Liam when you first moved here and alway enjoyed having him in class and meeting again last summer. My heart breaks for you. I hope you find peace with all the wonderful memories of what a sweet boy Liam was.

We have shared some special moments over the last few years and Liam is a part of all the good memories about school. Our hearts and prayers are with you. We will miss him very much.

I do not know your family, but I am friends with your friends, the Muellers and the Fackler-Adams. I am a teacher, as well, so, from the remarks about Liam I can just guess what a joy he was to have in class. I am writing because I want you to know that even a stranger that you do not know has been touched by your son's life and passing and that when a stone is cast into the water, the ripples reach where you can't imagine. Prayers and good wishes always.
