HUDON _ Lida (Jean) (nee McLeod) 1921 - 2003 Our dear mother Jean passed away August 17th at Prince George Regional Hospital after a long fight with multiple illnesses. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Murdoch and Mrs. Daisy McLeod; half brother, Archie McLeod; sister, Margaret Carlson; daughter, Louise McConnachie; son, Norman Hudon and granddaughter, Carrie McConnachie. Her intelligence, creativity, strength, character and spirit live on in all she has left behind: husband, Camille Hudon of Prince George, B.C.; children, Telespher Hudon of Prince George, Janine Hudon (Wayne Maksylewich) of Singapore, Marilyn Storie of McBride, B.C., Joanne MacMillan of Prince George, Gerry Hudon (A'Lana Laveck) of Prince George, Margaret McClure (Ken McClure) of Fort Langley, B.C., (Darlene Hudon) of Prince George and (Rod MacMillan) of Delta, B.C.; grandchildren, Sheena, Kimberly and Jillian MacMillan, Lesley, Russell and Stuart McConnachie, Cam and Justine Hudon, Evelyn, Madeline and Agatha Storie, Alix Hudon, and Daisy and Roy McClure; great-grandchild, Hannah McConnachie; and siblings, Ted and (Bibby) McLeod of Vancouver, Lois Kuder of Florence, Arizona, Clyde and (Joan) McLeod of Penticton, B.C., George and (Phyllis) McLeod of Squamish, B.C., Betty and (Warren) Yoder of Middlesex, England, Shirley and (Del) Herreid of Portland, Oregon, Fred and (Joan) McLeod of Victoria, B.C. and Glen and (Ruth) McLeod of Richmond, B.C. Born in Cranbrook, B.C. on April 12th, 1921, Mom spent her cherished childhood surrounded by a large and wonderful family on the Westside of Vancouver. After graduating from Kitsilano High School in 1940, she attended the University of Toronto and then nursing school at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. She married Camille in 1950 and they raised their own large, wonderful family in Mission, B.C., moving on to a cattle ranch in Prince George in 1969. In her prime, Jean would have "put Martha to shame", with her remarkable cooking, gardening, sewing and organizational skills. As a mother she constantly amazed and humbled all of us, who required homework help, by having an uncanny memory for every school subject from mathematics and sciences, to history and languages. Jean spent the last decade of her life comfortably at Parkside Intermediate Care facility in Prince George, where she received excellent care thanks to a competent and compassionate staff. During this time she produced a stream of knitting that if placed end to end, would surely stretch around the globe! With "for heavens sakes, if you're going to do it, do it right!" as a motto, she was, and always will be, a hard act to follow. She will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by all of us. Cremation with no funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
