Lila Virginia Wiles Lester

Mrs. Lila Virginia Wiles Lester, 85, of Pemberton, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, November 6, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital following a sudden illness. Born March 20, 1928, Lila was the daughter of the late Sheffey Clay and Leah Kiser Wiles. She was a member of the Pemberton Missionary Baptist Church, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be forever missed by family and friends. Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lester in 2005 and her son, Kenneth Lester in 2009. Survivors include her children Keith Lester and wife Carol of Oak Hill, WV; Carolyn Osborne and husband Larry of Conover, NC; Marlene Duncan and husband David of Hickory, NC; Allen Lester and wife Jackie of Pemberton, WV; Mary Lang and husband Gerald of Charlotte, NC; Brenda Vass and husband Fred of Nimitz, WV and Linda Markland and husband Edward of Lexington, NC. Nephews Mac Lilly of Crab Orchard, WV and Jimmy Ford of Beckley, WV also survive. Lila leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 1 PM in the Mausoleum of Faith at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, with the Reverend James Ford officiating.
