Lila Tallbut Obituary

Published by The Daily News (Longview, WA) on Dec. 31, 2009.
Lila Tallbut

Lila Tallbut was a woman of unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She joined Him Dec. 22, 2009, after a brave three year battle with breast cancer. She was 50.

Lila Sherrylou Lees was born July 30, 1959, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Louis and Lucille Lees.

She married Stanley Fred Tallbut Oct. 29, 1976, and gave birth to their four boys by 1982. A devoted mother and wife, she homeschooled her children and was always very busy caring for her family. She was very involved in her church at New Life Fellowship and worked for 10 years at the Child and Adolescent Clinic as an administrative assistant.

Her many talents included music, cooking, jewelry-making, crocheting, and especially teaching and loving other people. Lila was truly selfless, and poured her life and heart into family, friends, and even strangers. Because of her influence, many lives have been forever changed. She had a passion for the people of Cambodia, where she went on a mission trip in 2007. Another deep passion was experiencing Israel; walking the footsteps of Jesus. Lila possessed a warm and gentle spirit, a tender heart, and was truly beautiful, inside and out.

Lila was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Stan; their four sons, Nathan, Joel, Matt and Dave; her daughters-in-law, Natalie, Jennifer, and Amy; her beloved grandchildren, Zion, Ella, Vivienne, and Robbie Tallbut; her father, Louis Lees; four siblings, Linda Alexander, Lawna Haigh, Laura Routledge and Henry Lees; and her many dear friends.

As Lila said of her trial, "There should never be a hint of discouragement or doubt - only hope and strength. His healing is there for us all." Her friends and family find comfort in the knowledge that she has finally received the ultimate healing.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Life Fellowship.

Lila´s memory to this day is kind, loving, patient, faithful, and oh so very beautiful! She touched my life when my son would ride bikes and play at her house with her 4 boys, she always welcomed one more. She really was a model to me of how to be fully strong and fully female all at the same time. I miss you Lila and I will see you again in spirit one day....

Stan
My heart breaks for you. I have been praying for the two of you for a very long time. I once asked what is your hearts desire. It was family and our God has been gracious. His love is never ending. You will survive In Christ. We will all survive.

Lila was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a great example to all who knew her. She had such a radiant, beautiful smile. My prayers are with you, her family. I hope you can have comfort in the fact that she loved you deeply and is no longer suffering, but worshipping Jesus.

Stan and family: We were so sorry for the passing of Lila from our family here, but such a wonderful homecoming for her with her heavenly father in heaven, where she is celebrating with all her family and friends who are there waiting for her joyous homecoming. She is in no more pain and suffering. Dancing on the streets of gold and praising our glorious Lord.
Lila was a blessing to us and our family, her drama directing, dancing and singing was so wonderful and showed us all her Love for the Lord. We will miss her smiling face and faith she had.
We are so sorry that we will not be able to attend the service as we are now living in Apple Valley, Ca.. We want you to know Stan that our thoughts and prayers are with you during these weeks and months ahead.
We have the reassuring that we will see her again with a big smile on her face and in no more pain.
Love in christ Chuck and Eva Diseth

Lila was such an incredible woman. She taught me a lot about the importance of Faith. I always remember her in Bible study telling me that she was praying for Hailey and Chris all the time. I will miss her so much but I know that I will see her again. She no longer suffers and that gives me peace. She is finally with Jesus, where total healing is found. I love you Lila and I will miss you dearly.
