Sidney Thompson Obituary

Sidney Thompson, 85, died May 25, 2007 at Meadville Nursing Home in Meadville. Services were Monday, May 28, 2007 at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Copiah County where he serves as Justice Court judge in district 3 for 16 years and as Supervisor in district 3 for 10 years. He was a member and served as a Deacon at Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson was a member of the 82nd Airborne division in WWII. He served his country in France, Germany and at the "Battle of the Bulge." He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen Douglas Thompson, his granddaughter, Kristie Lea and his great granddaughter, Callie Lea.
He is survived by sons: Sidney "Booky" Thompson and wife, Kim of Hazlehurst and Kevin Thompson and wife Christy of Hazlehurst; daughters: Karen Reynolds and husband Ray of Meadville, Susie Jackson and husband Billy of Bassfield and Judy Lea and husband Ronnie of Sontag; brother: Pat Thompson; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Antioch Memorial Cemetery Fund or to the Baptist Children's Fund.
