Lillian Paul Krayniak

Lillian Paul Krayniak, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Linden Lea Assisted Living Facility with her children gathered around her. Having previously resided in Toledo, Ohio until 1963, she has since lived in Miami, Florida and most recently DeLand, Florida. She was born on July 4, 1923 to Rosa and Louis Paul. After retiring from Florida Power and Light, she and her husband George, who preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage, enjoyed visiting their family who lived in various states across the country. They both made a trip to the countries of each of their ancestors – Hungary and Slovakia - a dream they both held for many years. They returned home to author a book on their entire geneology for their children and grandchildren. Lillian was a woman of adventure and talent. She became a pilot at an early age while managing to raise six children. Lillian was also a very talented artist, producing many beautiful works of art. She volunteered at Florida Hospital DeLand and was president of the DeLand Arthritis Group. Lillian is survived by five of her six children, with her oldest daughter, Lana Kwiatkowski of Fremont, Ohio preceding her in death. Her remaining children are Elsie (David-deceased) Detwiler of DeLand, Florida and Sylvania, Ohio; George (Winifred) Krayniak of Rancho Palos Verdes, California; Diane (Billy) Voliva of DeLand, Florida; Jeanne (Ray) Carteret of Southport, North Carolina; Karen (Jim) Bull of Denver, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lankford Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand. All friends are invited to attend.
