Lillian Williams Obituary

Lillian L. Williams, 92, of Anne Street, Mountain Top, entered into eternal rest Thursday at Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Burt and Edith Marr Allen. Lillian was a member of the New Life Community Church, Mountain Top.

She was employed by Dana Perfume, Mountain Top, and owned and operated Diane's Beauty Parlor, Wilkes-Barre.

Preceding Lillian in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Albert Williams Sr., in 2000; grandmother, Lucille Marr; and sister, Margaret Szczypta.

Surviving Lillian are her son, Albert Williams Jr. and his wife, Rose Marie, Mountain Top; daughter, Margaret Smith and her husband Burt, Panama City, Fla.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dawn Darden, Albert L. Williams III, Cheryl Valdes, Diane Crawford and Burt Smith Jr.; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Justin Darden, Luke Valdes and R.J. Williams.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Interment will follow in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre, or a charity of the donor's choice.

To the Williams Family from the Biros family, our deepest sympathy to all of you. Knowing your parents were next door was always such a security to the Biros "kids". No one could ever ask for more wonderful neighbors. The day our dad died it was into the loving arms of Lil and Al we 3 were ushered to be protected from what would become one of the worst days of our lives. Forty some years later the feeling of security we felt being with them remains. As we all grew up and got busy it was still a comfort to know that Lil was right there like the grandmother we never had. Our family always is so taken with how dedicated you have been to her all these years. It is with tears of joy from happy memories shared over cookies in her kitchen or looking for our mom (Flo) only to find her sitting on Lil's back porch chatting over coffee on a summer evening, that we share your loss. You are all so truely blessed.
