Lily Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 10 to Oct. 23, 2020.
Lily Arlene Anderson, of Eastham passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 from complications of ALS. She had just celebrated her 21st birthday on August 31st. Lily was a beautiful soul, patient, understanding, calm and poised who came into the world with her own special gifts and challenges. She met every challenge with a smile and determination. From Early Intervention to the Children's Place to Pre-K in Wellfleet to K through 5 at Eastham Elementary School, Lily was surrounded by an array of amazing educators who enriched her mind and spirit. From there, Lily went on to the Riverview School in East Sandwich, where she was a day student for 6 years and a post graduate student in the dorms for the past 2 years. Lily loved her time at Riverview with all her friends and dedicated & marvelous teachers. Lily also adored being home with her family and her beloved cat, Dusty. They were inseparable. Lily loved to laugh. She loved music and dancing, airplanes and travel and had an incredible sense of style. She was so looking forward to getting her driver's license, living in her own apartment and getting a job. Lily is survived by her parents, Rob and Susan of Eastham, her sisters Sarah of Long Beach, CA and Emma & her husband Jean and Lily's niece Iona all of Boston, MA, her Aunt and Uncle, Tina & Bob of Orleans and their dogs, Brooke & Elin (Lily adored them), and her Uncles and Aunts, Chris & Robin of Arizona, Greg & Sammi of So. Carolina, Scott & Katie of Florida and several wonderful cousins. She will be dearly missed and remembered always. A celebration of Lilys life will be held at a later date. The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, if so inclined, please donate to Compassionate Care ALS on Cape Cod. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com.

I don´t know where to begin . I have had the pleasure of knowing Lily at Riverview for 3 years and right from the beginning I could tell I was going to be a very close friend of hers and she was going g to be a older sister to me which she was . I can´t be anymore grateful for all Lily had done with me from going out together in travel training with each other, being in home room together 2 years , being in 411 together , having firm visitation at each other´s dorms , doing art and crafts , doing chorus with her , being in Mr Simpsons music class with her , working in breakfast cafe with her and spending time with her after at breakfast cafe and so much more ! I can´t have been anymore fortunate enough to have known Lily and have met her when I was at Riverview . I will never forget Lily´s smile , laughs , and sense of humor ! She was such an outgoing and a very understanding peer to her friends and classmates and not only do I consider her a close friend I consider her as my older sister as well. It´s heartbreaking that Lily´s life was taken away too quickly and too early . Lily may you fly over the rainbow and shine bright ! ILYSO and you will never be forgotten . My heart is with you . I hope to meet you soon again my friend . May you be painless free and fly with your angels .

Lily, I miss you so much and I remember being in Brooks One Dorm during our first year in GROW. Thank you so much for being my friend and supporting our school, Riverview! Everyone at Riverview missed you and I always will think of you every day.
