Linda Armstrong Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2022.
Linda Kay Armstrong, born on October 1, 1963, left this earthly world on September 21, 2022, and was made whole again in the arms of Jesus. As she entered through the gates of Heaven, Linda was welcomed by her husband, Scot Armstrong, along with her mother Anita Lawson, her brother Odean Lawson Jr., nephew John William Gross and her father-in-law Mel Armstrong. Linda leaves behind her father Odean Lawson (Margie), six sisters; Patricia Gross (Roger), Karen Korbe (Russ), Carol Locke (Steve), Amy Doyle, Tammy Kane (Kevin), and Jennifer Johnson. Along with her mothers-in-law, Jane Franklin and Cathy Armstrong, her sisters-in-law Cathy Armstrong Dickenson (Ken), Jennifer Abreu (George) and brother-in-law Jamie Orlando.

Linda also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that meant the world to her. She shared her love of Jesus with each and every one of them and was a constant in their lives. She reminded them daily to "keep a smile on your face and Jesus in your heart". She leaves a legacy of sharing the love of Jesus through singing and her voice will never be forgotten.

Linda was a 1981 graduate of Streator High School, in Streator, IL. She completed training at St. James Beauty School in Bloomington, IN to become a beautician. After moving to Texas, she worked in administrative positions at Traylor Brothers and MST construction companies. She also led worship and worked in various ministries in the churches she attended. She cherished being able to witness through her singing.

For the past nine years she was a caregiver for not only her nieces and nephews, but for all of those who were lucky enough to know her. Her heart and home were always open to family and friends. She loved planning and doing activities with family, church, and neighborhood friends. Linda will be missed beyond measure, but it comforts us to know that she is not just singing with the Heavenly angel choir but leading it.

Words seem inadequate to describe the love you gave to all who knew you. Through your laughter, your bossiness, your caregiving, even when you did not feel well, your cooking (you tried to teach me, i can boil eggs without them exploding now) and most importantly your prayers. I loved that when I would call to ask you to pray you would just stop and pray with me on the phone. That you much-loved my "grown up" babies and prayed over them. I miss you sister, but I am thankful that you are at peace in the arms the Lord.

Linda was a blessing for my family and was so loved. I can see her running on the streets of gold in Heaven and singing out loud to the Lord.
