Linda Bergstrom Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 3, 2013.
Bergstrom, Linda K. Born in Pine City, Minnesota on 11/17/54 to the loving parents of August and Fidelia (Milliren) Bergstrom. Linda joined the Minneapolis Park Police Department as an Agent in 1979, and rose through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and later became Chief of Police in July, 2010. She always considered the men and women she worked with as her extended family. Linda always treated everyone with respect and always strived for "fairness to everyone." She was a dedicated employee serving 34 years at the Minneapolis Park Police Department. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and she is survived by five sisters, three brothers and many nieces and nephews. She loved animals and her three cats. Gussie, Lexie and Tigger will miss her. She was truly loved by all of us and will be deeply missed forever. A memorial service will be held later. Memorials preferred to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148. Tribute Account # 3301538.

Chief Bergy was an excellent role model. She treated me like I wanted to be treated even though I was a vendor to her. She will be missed...she was a class act salt of the earth!

Sissy and family, Park Police staff: I still can't believe Bergie is gone. What a loss of a fabulous person, kind to all and of a generous spirit. It was my privilege to have connected with her in this life. My life has been richer for knowing her. My sincere sympathy to you all. Jan Halvorson, MPRB finance/payroll.
