I was lucky to have Mrs. Bobo for two classes, typing and shorthand, back in the early to mid-60's. She was a serene woman, totally unflappable. Gray-Court Owings was a small school that went from grades 1-12. We all knew each other and we knew our teachers. Even years later I can picture Mrs. Bobo in my mind's eye just as she looked calling out words for us to type. (I always peeked at my keys.) I remember her staying after school to type letters to her daughter Rita who was then in college. The Bobos were a big part of Gray Court and our lives. My father always shopped at Bobo's Grocery there. I feel lucky to have grown up in such a small community where everyone knew everyone else. Sixty three years later it seems like just yesterday when I had her for a teacher.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the entire family during this time of sorrow. Those who have died, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15) My sincerest sympathy.

Mrs. Bobo was my typing and bookkeeping teacher at Laurens High. I remember her being a very sweet teacher! People are amazed at my typing skills after all these years--all because of your precious mother and grandmother! I will always remember her fondly. Rev. Billie Lawson, Jr.

Ms Linda Fay was a constant at Friendship. She loved her church and her church family. I was honored to attend a Bible study with her last year.

Rita, my mom and dad will miss her greatly.

Rita, Thinking of you at this sad time. I have so many wonderful memories of my times with your family. Typing this to you makes me realize that your mother gave me these skills. She was a great teacher in so many ways. She was a wonderful mother to you and to your friends (us). I treasure all of that. Losing one's mom is difficult and even more so when she has been a wonderful one. Keep your memories close at hand and know that she will be with you daily. May God's love, mercy, grace, and peace be with you now and in the days to come. Love you sweet friend, Harriett Lee Rucker

Ms. Bobo was a lovely lady and a huge part of Gray Court Owings School history. I never had her for a teacher, but, the ones that did have her, loved her. You have my sympathy. Prayers and hugs
