Linda Bohnel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2023.
Linda Jean Bohnel (nee Marshall), 82, of Tuxedo, New York, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023. Linda was born on March 6, 1941, in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Linda was a loving wife to and is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jay Bohnel, and a devoted mother to her children, Cheryl Bohnel, Douglas Bohnel, Suzanne Buch Bohnel and grandchildren, Franklin Bohnel, Ruby Buch and Vienna Buch. Also survived by her sister Carol Carl. Pierre Fils was like a son and very dear to her heart. She cherished her family and leaves behind beautiful memories for them to hold dear.

In addition to her role as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda was passionate about animals and adored her dogs. She found great joy in their companionship and always had a kind word for any furry friend she encountered. She also enjoyed watching birds flock to their 6 birdfeeders in the backyard.

Linda was part of the first graduating class of Midland Park High School (1959). Her educational journey took her to Douglass College, where she pursued her higher education, attaining a degree in Physical Education (1963). Linda and Jay met while attending Rutgers University and married shortly after graduating.

Along with her husband, Jay, she was very involved in their children's athletics including coaching Little League baseball and softball, Pop Warner football, American Legion baseball, West Point Swim Club and never missed a child's sporting event (baseball, swimming, basketball, softball, football, soccer, track & field) through high school and college.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, there will be no memorial service held. However, those who wish to honor her memory can make contributions to the ASPCA or any animal protection charity or shelter. Linda had a deep appreciation for animals, and supporting such an organization will continue her commitment to their welfare.

Linda Marshall Bohnel will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace and she spend her spiritual life with her pets that passed before her.

She will always be that special person that my family and friends will see through me. Mrs. B´s kindness and loving ways will be remembered forever. She will a be a conversation piece in my house. If it was not for her and the Bohnel family,I would not be the person that I am today. R.I.P your legacy will live forever in my heart. Love you forever
