Linda Cain Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2024.
Linda L. Cain, 75, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully in Sedona on July 7, 2024.

Linda was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, where she spent the first half of her life. She attended Beverly High School and went on to further her education at Endicott College and Arizona State University, earning degrees in Fashion Design and Fine Art. A talented mixed media and watercolor artist, Linda's creativity was both her passion and her solace.

Linda served as the President of the local Phoenix chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art for many years, significantly contributing to the local Phoenix and ASU art community. She was also a frequent volunteer, setting an inspiring example of charitable service for her children and family.

Linda loved people and was always there for others, a cheerful friend to all. She is fondly remembered for her kindness, her talent for forming deep friendships, and especially her joy in teaching her grandchildren how to paint and draw. She had a great love for music, especially classical music, Janis Joplin, and Queen.

She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Webber and Jessica Fielding, and four cherished grandchildren: Isa, Zo, Kendall, and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cain, who died two years earlier to the day, her parents, Victor and Marilyn Hopkinson, and her brothers, David Hopkinson and John Hopkinson.

A Celebration of Life Memorial event and an art show of Linda's life's artworks will be held in Arizona and announced at a future date. Additionally, a memorial event will be held in Massachusetts when her ashes are interred.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Women's Caucus for Art (https://nationalwca.org) or Maggie's Place (https://www.maggiesplace.org).

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and those she touched with her kindness and artistic vision.
