Linda Lou Campbell, age 78, of Plano, IL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born on April 7, 1938 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Raymond and Juanita (Bark) Anderson. Linda was united in marriage on October 27, 1956 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano, IL to James Edward Campbell and they spent the next 60 happy years together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Linda was a graduate of Sandwich High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Plano since 1956 where she participated in the Council of Catholic Women, sang in the church choir, and attended the weekly priests' prayer group. She was a past member of the former Kiwanis organization in Plano. Linda and her sister, Merrilee, "The Dip Sisters," were candle makers at the Sandwich Fair. Linda was the owner of TraveLinn agency and was blessed to have traveled with her husband all over the world and experienced many holy pilgrimages. She had a true awe of God's creation that came through in her poetry and paintings and her love for animals. Being an avid Plano sports fan, she was an original member of the Purple Pride Gang and was the best and proudest cheerleader for her children and grandchildren. Linda also loved her home and how it kept her family together. She is survived by her husband, James Campbell of Plano, IL; her children, Jerry (Anna) Campbell of Sheridan, IL, Randy (Angie) Campbell of Plano, IL, Tim (Tammi) Campbell of Plano, IL, and Jennifer (Tim) Waldrop of Plano, IL; her grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Campbell, Jessica (Angel) Trenado, Nick, Jasmine (Josh) and Jordan Campbell, Hannah (Nick) Slack, Luke, John, and Levi Campbell, Samantha (Colton) Carlson, and Mackenzie Waldrop; her great grandchildren, Colin Campbell, Mariah and Sophia Trenado, Paisley Fischbach, and Addison Carlson; her mother, Juanita Anderson of Sandwich, IL; and her sister, Merrilee Anderson Knight of Indianola, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Anderson; and her son, Matthew Campbell. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1001 North Center Ave., Plano, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux M.I.C., officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL. Friends may visit from 2:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, IL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary's Fellowship Hall/Gymnasium at saintmaryplano.com.
