Linda M. Duffy 1943 - 2017
NEW HARTFORD - Linda M. Duffy, 74, died November 7, 2017 at Westchester County Health, due to complications of heart surgery.
She was born August 6, 1943, in Oneonta, daughter of the late Fred and Erma Ives. She graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1961 and attended Wilson Memorial Nursing School in Johnson City.
Linda married Michael Duffy on December 15, 1961 at St. Mary's Church in Oneonta, a union of 56 years on December 15, 2017.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, New Hartford.
Linda was always about her family and never about herself. She loved spending summers at the family camp, on Cranberry Lake, especially with her grandchildren. It was her favorite place to be. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was famous for her meals, especially her pies.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her son, Michael L. Duffy, of Irondequoit, NY and his children, Mack and Connor Duffy; her daughter, Kimberly (Steven) Baerman, of New Hartford and their children, Duffy, Dustin, Annelisha and Gabrielle Baerman; and her favorite niece, Melanie O'Brien, who was like a daughter to her. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen; and a brother, Robert.
Per Linda's request, services will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
