Saturday, February 14, 2015, Linda Gale Foust Dyer, 64, of Rocky Top, TN, surrounded by her loving family was called home to be with her Heavenly Father. Linda was born on January 4, 1951, in Hammond, Indiana, the second child of five born to dedicated and Godly parents Charles and Jean Foust. Linda enjoyed 26 years as a dental hygienist with her second family at Dr. Dan Startup's office in Norris, Tennessee, where she relished in sharing in the lives of her patients and taking advantage of the opportunity to witness and share her love for The Lord. Linda had a heart for service that included her work as the director of Rocky Top's Walk Through Bethlehem Ministry, she found joy in watching local churches and community organizations come together for a common mission. Other passions for Linda included rescuing dogs, teaching Sunday School, leading Bible Studies, and working in ministries serving women and children facing domestic violence and people battling with drug addiction. She had a true love for helping others. Linda was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife. She is survived by her husband, James Dyer, her two daughters Anna Leigh Dyer Long (Clinton, TN) and Jill Marie Dyer (Knoxville, TN), son-in-law Bruce Long, three grandchildren, Elle, Harper and Henry Long, parents Charles and Jean Foust (Rocky Top, TN), sisters, Patricia (Bill) Osteen (Beech Island, SC), Constance (Michael) Lackey (Sylva, NC), Kathy (Loy) Waldrop ( Knoxville, TN), brother, Chuck (Diane) Foust (Mineral Bluff, GA), 12 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, 1 great aunt and 1 great uncle, 6 aunts and uncles, many cousins, and a wonderfully large extended family. Linda fought a valiant battle against breast cancer over the past two and a half years, she spent her journey witnessing, sharing her testimony and inspiring others through her bravery, courage and thought provoking words regarding her faith. For, 64 years, she lived a life full of laughter, love, memory making with her family and friends, serving, dancing, spoon playing and singing. She will be remembered forever for her radiant smile, fabulous laugh, and dedication to The Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held at Main Street Baptist Church of Rocky Top, TN on Friday, February 20, 2015. Receiving of Friends will be 5pm-7pm, followed by a service at 7pm.
