Linda Gallegos Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17, 2021.
Linda Sue Gallegos, age 59, passed away peacefully at home, with her family on January 12, 2021. A rosary followed by a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 12:30PM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 921 Merriwether Street, in Clovis. Father Michael Niemczak will be officiating.
Linda was born on April 21, 1961, in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years; Steven Gallegos, Sr., her son; Steven (Ryan) Wamhoff-Gallegos, Jr., her daughters; April (Charles) McBride and Christina (Andrew) Fowler, her father; Robert Pelland, Sr., step-mother; Judy Pelland, her brothers; Robert (Rose) Pelland, Jr., Roy (Dorothy) Pelland, and Michael Pelland, mother-in-law; Dolores Gallegos, sisters-in-law; Mary Jane "Janie" (Richard, Sr.) Gallegos; brothers-in-law Mike Gallegos, Johnny Gallegos, and Jakie (Danielle) Gallegos, and six wonderful grandchildren; Sarina, Andrew, Adam, Austin, Angelique, and Jasmine. She is with her mother in heaven, Karen Chavez Pelland, who passed on April 3, 2016.
Known to her students as "Mrs. G", many will remember Linda for her 19 years as an Education Assistant at Lockwood Elementary School and six years as a Librarian at James Bickley Elementary. She strongly believed that every child deserves a chance to be successful in life, and made a point to look out for those most in need. She took many a struggling or troubled student under her wing to make sure they got the help and guidance that they needed to succeed in school and in life. Many of her "troubled kids" have gone on to be successful because she took the time to make sure they knew their worth and that they too could succeed.
Linda was a devoted and loving mother, who supported her children in the most important way possible, by always being there. She always made time to listen, and was always there to encourage you and cheer you on. No matter how hard life would get...you could always count on Mom would be there. She truly was the "SuperMom" who managed to do it all. She always found a way to laugh and smile, even during her long and arduous fight with cancer. Her caring nature and tireless devotion to others left an enduring mark on everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
The entire family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude to Dr. Manuel A. Macapinlac, MD and the team at the Plains Regional Cancer Center for giving us six more years with such an amazing woman. She had to leave us far too soon, but we are thankful for every moment that we had with her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, (575) 762-4435, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com
