Linda Catherine Jackson Guidry, 77, died on June 20, 2017 at 1:01 PM. She was a native and a resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home in the Magnolia Chapel and Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 9 AM until funeral time at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arlen James Guidry; son, Brent Thomas Guidry; daughters, Dawn Guidry Pierron and companion, Duane Dupre, and Holli Guidry Politz and husband, Chris; grandson, Brady James Pierron; brother, Earl “Sonny” Jackson and wife, Judy, Neal Jackson and wife, Ann, and Darrell Jackson, Sr. and wife, Roxanne; sisters, Beverly Freeman and husband, Larry Sr. “Peg”, Arleta “Eta”Guidry, Norma Loker, Cherylyn “Putt” Marchive and husband, Sterling, and Janine Guidry and husband, Jack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Henry Sr. and Lena Evelyn Granger Jackson; in-laws, Hugh James and Gladys Bridgette Use’ Guidry; brother, Warren Carroll Jackson; sister, Earline “Nutsie” Dove and husband, Bill; brothers-in-law, Lee Guidry, Sr and Wamsley Loker; sister-in-law, Earline Jackson; daughter-in-law, Danae Matzke Guidry.
She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She was a hairdresser for 58 years and owner of Bonnie’s Beauty Salon. She was a member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians for 34 years. A former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering at area nursing homes providing cosmetology services. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
