Linda Johnson (Snook) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 18 to Jan. 19, 2024.
Linda Sue Johnson (Snook), 77, a loving mother, grandma/yaya, and friend, passed away on November 28th, 2023, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia after a short illness. She was surrounded by her beloved family at the time of her passing.

She is survived by her children Kellee Rosenberg and Stacee Read, her grandchildren Noah Rosenberg, Benjamin Rosenberg, Hannah Rosenberg, Avree Read, and Anden Read, and other close distant relatives. She is predeceased by her mom Alma Snook and her sister Joella Crenshaw.

Linda was born on January 31, 1946, to Alma Snook in Charleston, Illinois. After graduating West High School in Rockford, Illinois, she went to flight attendant school in Buffalo, New York where she graduated to become a Flight Attendant for American Airlines. Linda enjoyed working and travelling the world for the airline for 42 years. Her favorite place to travel was Milan, Italy where she went many times to enjoy the beauty, rich history, and amazing food. Linda also enjoyed spending time gardening and planting new things in her garden. Her beautiful garden won awards and she was so proud when people stopped over to see it. Most of all, Linda enjoyed her family, especially at the holidays. She enjoyed having her family over for big elaborate meals where she liked to make old family recipes including sugar cookies, peanut butter fudge, and fillet mignon, but also trying new recipes that always seemed to turn out. Linda especially loved Christmas. Linda enjoyed decorating her house with elaborate Christmas decorations and giving gifts to her family. Linda always enjoyed spoiling her grandkids with many gifts and would fill the area around the tree with many gifts.

Linda will forever be missed and cherished. She always lit up the room with her smile and laughter. Her family and friends will remember her in different ways as she brought so much to everyone's lives. Her children will remember her for her style and spiciness and for all the laughs. Her grandchildren will remember her for her shopping trips she took them on, her silliness with them, the fun gifts she gave them, and her love for them.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday January 27th, 2024, from 11:30am-2:00pm at Lino's Restaurant at 5611 East State Street, Rockford, Illinois, 61108. Please come and share memories.

I just heard of Linda's passing. It was just posted on West High's Facebook page. I would have been at the Celebration Life. We were friends in grade school and high school. Her mom, sister and Linda moved to the next block from me. We had a lot of fun..probably too much! I was in her wedding. We lost touch. Think the last time I saw her was at Village Green purchashing flowers. Of course! Sorry this is so late and so sorry for your loss. Linda Ghent Webster 5.1.24

This picture reminds me of my mom's laughter and spirit! She made me laugh and smile. The Thanksgiving before she died, I surprised her at the hospital...and we shared a Frappuccino and shared smiles. These are memories that will forever be etched in my memory and my heart. I miss you mama.
